Pathologist shortage delays cause-of-death reports, legislative solution sought

As hard as it is to find nurses when a living patient needs care, it’s equally hard to find someone to perform an autopsy after they die. Lawmakers in Olympia are offering up Senate Bill 5523, which would address a critical statewide shortage of board certified pathologists with financial incentives, including student loan debt repayment.
