Coulombe was going to come up short in his bid for a bullpen spot with the Twins, but he's been given a reprieve with the O's trading for him and promptly adding him to their relief corps. The veteran left-hander holds a 2.92 ERA over 41 appearances over the last three seasons.

Puljujarvi could return to the lineup Tuesday versus Tampa Bay after being a healthy scratch Sunday versus Boston, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Puljujarvi has been credited with 19 shots on goal and 11 hits in eight games with the Hurricanes since being acquired from Edmonton. He might fill in for Jesper Fast (personal), who will be a game-time decision versus the Lightning, alongside Jordan Staal and Teuvo Teravainen.

With just eight games remaining on Dallas' schedule, Seguin might still reach the 20-goal milestone for the ninth time in his career.

Rapp agreed Monday with Buffalo on a one-year contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Rapp is now in line to suit up for the Bills in 2023 following Monday's agreement. The 25-year-old has served as the Rams' starting strong safety since he was drafted as a second-round selection by Los Angeles in 2019, and he registered 92 tackles, six passes defensed and two interceptions across 16 contests last season. Although the Bills already have two prominent safety options in Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde (neck), Rapp is still more than likely to command a rotational role within the team's secondary.

Mengden re-signed with the Royals on a minor-league contract Wednesday. Mengden saw a little action with the Royals in 2022 but spent the bulk of the season at Triple-A Omaha, posting a 5.20 ERA over 109 innings. He'll head back there to start 2023.

Misiewicz was designated for assignment by the Cardinals on Wednesday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. The Cards need to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of phenom Jordan Walker. Misiewicz was acquired from the Royals back in February after being removed from their 40-man roster and will go through the waiver process again.
