NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Bed Bath & Beyond will close dozens of its stores in the Tri-State area—including all but one of its Manhattan locations—as it struggles to stay afloat.
An updated store closure list revealed Thursday that the flagship store in Chelsea will be the only Bed Bath & Beyond location left in Manhattan, with the stores in Tribeca, Kips Bay and on the Upper West Side all set to close.
The beleaguered home goods chain announced Tuesday that it would close another 150 stores nationwide—in addition to the 150 closings it already announced last summer. See the full list of new closures below.
As Bed Bath & Beyond teeters on the edge of bankruptcy, the company said last month its rapid “store fleet reduction” is part of an effort to “manage our business as efficiently as possible.”
In addition to the Manhattan locations, stores are closing in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Westchester, the Lower Hudson Valley, New Jersey and Connecticut.
