NBA Trade Rumors: Knicks Prepared to Offer 3 1st-Round Picks for Raptors' OG Anunoby

If the Toronto Raptors decide to move OG Anunoby before the Feb. 9 trade deadline, the New York Knicks are expected to make a significant offer for the 25-year-old.

Per Michael Grange of SportsNet, the Knicks are "widely believed" to be preparing an offer of three first-round draft picks for Anunoby.

The Raptors seem to be the team that everyone is paying attention to leading up to the trade deadline. They have lost five of their last eight games and are currently 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 23-29 record.

Per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Raptors vice chairman and president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri and general manager Bobby Webster have been telling rival teams they will make a decision about their plans "near deadline day."

This suggests that Ujiri and Webster are waiting to see how the team's current seven-game road trip that ends on Feb. 8 plays out. They are 2-2 thus far coming off a 114-106 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Monday.

Anunoby, Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam and Gary Trent Jr. are the Raptors players teams are keeping an eye on. Anunoby and Siakam are both signed beyond this season. VanVleet and Trent have player options for 2023-24.

Given the lack of wing options available on the trade market, it's not a surprise that Anunoby could bring back a significant return. He is averaging 16.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game with a 36.6 three-point percentage in 45 starts this season.

The Knicks are likely looking to make a move that will help them climb out of the play-in mix. They are currently the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 27-25 record, but they are only two games behind the Miami Heat for the sixth seed.
