It’s no secret that Dakota Johnson is a fan of retro-inspired fashions, whether it’s theatrical feathered gowns on the red carpet or her vast collection of oversized boho sunnies. But the star has a particular soft spot for styles from the 1970s. “I’ve always romanticised ’70s fashion,” Johnson previously told Vogue. “The shapes, lines, colours and patterns. But also the vibe of the people wearing the clothes.”

Case in point: the outfit the actor was spotted wearing in Los Angeles this week. The look consisted of a grey Reformation sweater, denim button-up jacket with a statement brown corduroy collar, blue high-waisted flared jeans and black leather platform boots. Dakota accessorised with tortoiseshell square-frame sunglasses and her favourite Jackie 1961 Gucci shoulder bag.

The handbag also has its roots in the hippie era the actor is so fond of – it was renamed the Jackie after the former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy spent the 1970s flitting around Manhattan with her Gucci bag hooked over her shoulder.
