Boys Basketball: Barkley finishes with 22 to lead East Orange past Newark Central

Kaiyri Barkley scored a game high 22 points to help lead East Orange to a narrow, 47-42 victory over Newark Central, in East Orange.

Barkley added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals to his game high 22.

East Orange (10-8) quickly jumped out to an 18-6 lead before Newark Central rallied to cut its deficit to single digits.

After going on a 17-12 run in the third quarter, Newark Central (5-14) cut the score to 39-37 entering the fourth quarter.

East Orange closed the game on an 8-5 run to go up by, and win, by five.

Carlyle Adams added 10 points, three rebounds, and a steal for East Orange.

For Newark Central, Michael Anderson (15 points) and Hazir Lee (13 points) led in scoring.
