PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Competing at the famed TPC Sawgrass and facing a robust tournament field that includes six teams in the GolfStat Top-60, USC Upstate men's golf opened its spring schedule with a strong effort on the final day at the Sea Best Invitational.
 
The Spartans concluded the event carding a final round 297, the team's lowest round since carding three sub-300 rounds at the Streamsong Invitational with three golfers posting their lowest rounds of the event in the third round. For the event, Upstate fashioned scores of 301-303-297-901, finishing 13^th.
 
Leading Upstate, senior Brady Hinkle closed his event by tying his career-low round with a final-round 68—the Spartans' fourth sub-70 round of the year and Hinkle's third. He tied for 22^nd in the tournament field, crafting marks of 74-73-68-215 with his 54-hole total marking the third lowest of his career.
 
Behind Hinkle on the leaderboard were sophomore Barrett Josey and senior Sebastian Trujillio who carded scores of 72-78-79-229 and 80-76-74-230, respectively. Josey tied his career-low round with his opening-round 72 while Trujillio's 54-hole total marked his lowest of the season.

• Leading to his top-25 finish, Brady Hinkle finished in the top-15 of the tournament field in both Par-3 and Par-5 Scoring, tying for 13^th in Par-3 Scoring (3.00; E) and tying for fifth in Par-5 Scoring (4.67; -2). He also tied for 12^th in the event field with 10 birdies.
• Posting a 68 in the final round of the Sea Best Invitational, Hinkle tied his career-low round as he carded his third sub-70 round of the season. The round also marked the fourth sub-70 round for the Spartans this season.
• Joining Hinkle as a Spartan who tied his career-low round, Barrett Josey equaled his lowest career round with an opening round 72.
