Nvidia Titan RTX Ada engineering sample spotted online with 48 GB of GDDR6 VRAM

Nvidia's Titan RTX Ada graphics card smiled for the camera not too long ago. Its quad-slot design and overkill cooler were a sight to behold, but it would be virtually impossible to see one in the wild because it was shelved. Besides, the GeForce RTX 4090 is already a powerhouse, and it makes little sense for Nvidia to launch its successor, even less so when it has multiple potential points of failure with two 12VHPWR slots.

However, Nvidia hasn't given up on the prospect of resurrecting the Titan lineup. A shipping manifest on Volza (H/T Wccftech) showed a peculiar graphics card being transported from the US to India. Titled PG137 EB2 SKU0000, it packed 48 GB of VRAM on a 384-bit bus. The codename and specs are identical to the Ada RTX Titan, as confirmed earlier by Kopite7kimi. Also, the "EB2" moniker confirms it is an engineering sample, which could explain why it uses GDDR6 memory instead of GDDR6X.

That said, the mystery shipment in question is likely an early prototype of an upcoming workstation card, presumably Nvidia's answer to AMD's recently launched Instinct MI300, primarily because 48 GB of video memory is overkill for a consumer graphics card. Furthermore, the chances of Titan-class cards returning are low because the xx90 SKUs have effectively replaced them. Gamers could still get a GeForce RTX 4090 Ti with 24 GB of 24 Gbps GDDR6X VRAM and an AD102-400 GPU at some point.
