A man was killed in an early morning crash in Lyon County on Sunday, according to the Nevada State Police Highway.
At approximately 6:12 a.m. on January 29, NSP responded to a crash in the area of eastbound IR-80 east of mile mark 53 (MM53) in Lyon County.
Upon arrival, police determined that a white Ford F-150 pickup was traveling eastbound and ejected the driver, who was identified as 22-year-old Leo Alexander Camarena Nunez.
According to NSP, for unknown reasons, Nunez failed to maintain within the travel lane, entering the center dirt median. He then steered to the right, causing the vehicle to rotate clockwise. The vehicle overturned after rotating back across the eastbound travel lanes and into the right side dirt shoulder. Investigation revealed that Nunez was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
