Digital Spy can exclusively reveal the pulse-pounding first-look trailer for Normal People and Vikings star Leah McNamara's action comedy series Then You Run.
The Sky Max and NOW show sends McNamara and a group of girlfriends – played by Doctor Who: Class's Vivian Oparah, Boxing Day's Yasmin Monet Prince and newcomer Isidora Fairhurst – on a madcap dash through Europe with three kilos of heroin.
The girls end up going on the run when they discover Tara's (McNamara) ties to a family drug gang – though they don't count on her uncle Reagan's (The Fall's Richard Coyle) ruthlessness in trying to get his drugs back.
As Tara and her friends Stink (Oparah), Ruth (Prince) and Nessi (Fairhurst) desperately try to stay one step ahead of Reagan's goons, they must also stave off a serial killer known as The Traveller.
This adaptation of Zoran Drvenkar's novel You comes from BAFTA-winning director Ben Chanan, who has previously had hits with The Capture, The Missing and Maisie Williams' TV movie Cyberbully.
The Sky series' extended cast also includes Cillian O’Sullivan (Vikings), Francis Magee (Game of Thrones), Darren Cahill (Brassic) and Christian Rubeck (Doctor Who).
"The four young women’s hilarious relatability is the perfect antidote to the gritty absurdity of the gangster lifestyle and killing sprees peppered throughout the series, and we are incredibly excited to bring the unusual and offbeat world of Then You Run," producer Karen Wilson said.
Sky's Commissioner of Drama Gabriel Silver added: "Ben Chanan’s adaptation of Then You Run propels us into a vibrant, genre-clashing story that gleefully writes its own rules. It is fantastic to be working with Kudos again on such a unique show and I’m looking forward to this landing on Sky."
Then You Run will be coming to Sky Max and NOW later in 2023. A US broadcast hasn't yet been announced.
