The Unity Gardens in South Bend are going mobile!
They just revealed their mobile gardening bus: the Edgy Veggie.
The bus will be a way to spread fresh vegetables to underserved people in the area.
The bus will also be a classroom to teach kids about gardening and the importance of eating their vegetables.
“Many kids have never tried a fresh pea or a cherry tomato or fresh lettuce and those flavors pop in different ways. We’re right now used to salts, sugars and fats for our flavor array. So, imagine the delight when you first get to try something of that nature and, it’s fun! Look at the graphics, look at the vehicle” said Sara Stewart, Unity Gardens Executive Director.
Unity Gardens officials say they are excited to see how much of an impact the bus will have on people in the area.
