The state has until Feb. 6, 2023, to approve or deny applications on file for recreational sales.

Current customers still need a medical card to buy products at dispensaries legally, but all of that is just one email from the state away from changing.

The dispensary told KMBC 9 that not only will business increase, but their space will also triple. Pending approval from the state, of course.

Since voters went to the ballot and made recreational marijuana legal, everyone has wanted to know when they can buy it without a medical card. As of right now, the answer is that no one knows.

The state has given dispensaries a time frame but no exact date for when they can begin selling recreational marijuana.

Nearly all of the medical dispensaries in the state have also applied to sell recreationally. As you can imagine, people are anxious about the start date.

"Realistically, the state has only given us about a 72-hour window. They've explained to us between the third and the sixth is when we can kind of expect to see that.
