(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A northwest suburban high school is warning about catalytic converter thefts in the school’s parking lot.

The Rolling Meadows High School administration has told parents and students in a letter that there is a growing problem of catalytic converter thefts in the school’s parking lot.

The letter says it appears to be an issue for neighboring schools, too.

The District 214 School Resource Officer team suggests students and staff back into parking spaces, to make it harder for catalytic converter thieves. The district also says a campus safety team member will be patrolling the parking lot to deter criminals.
