MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) -- Following last week’s winter storm, one Metro Detroit woman was on the hunt to be named the most creative in her neighborhood when she ditched the traditional “snowmen” in favor of “snow sharks.”

Jennifer Ramirez, a local high school art teacher, says she’s had frequent visitors since constructing the three sharks outside her home at the corner of Edward and E. Katherine Avenues in Madison Heights.

Ramirez tells MLive.com that the project took her several hours to complete, and that she used extra snow from her driveway for their construction, and food coloring to tint the sharks with blue and red.

Though Ramirez says she has done similar snow sculptures on her front lawn before, the sharks seem to be her biggest hit to date.

In the past, she has constructed Pokemon and Angry Birds characters, as well as a koala and a fox and burrow.

Ramirez may also continue to the project if Metro Detroit gets more of the white stuff soon, saying she's aiming to add animals like penguins and seals.

She’s gonna need a bigger yard…
