Nottingham Forest trying to revive deal for 18-year-old Santos winger Angelo Gabriel as they refuse to give up hope ahead of transfer deadline

Nottingham Forest are trying to revive a deal for Brazilian winger Angelo Gabriel but it is unclear whether they can do so before the window closes.

The 18-year-old, who plays for Santos, has been a target for Forest throughout the window, though the move appeared to have broken down over the weekend. He is currently having a medical in Brazil.

Sportsmail understands Forest have not given up hope of this one, but it would be tough to get it over the line with the clock ticking.

Gabriel has made 100 appearances in all competitions for the Alvinegro, after making his debut in 2020 just two days after his 16th birthday.

Gabriel had previously been linked with a move to Newcastle in the Summer, with reports from Brazil claiming at the time that Santos had rejected a £22million bid for the magpies for their young winger.

Forest are preparing to announce the signings of Jonjo Shelvey and Felipe from Newcastle and Atletico Madrid respectively.
