Lincoln Heights: After nearly a century in business, The Airliner in Lincoln Heights is set to close next month. "Between now and the 24th, we invite you all to come say farewell, whether you’re a long-time regular or have never visited us before, to party with us and send us off as the sun sets on this chapter of all of our lives and for this historic bar," the bar said in a statement posted on Instagram. The historic venue held iconic regular live music events like Low End Theory, and spanned genres by hosting several punk shows. The reason for the closure is unclear. [Airliner/IG]

Huntington Park: On January 26, Anthony Lowe, a double-amputee, was shot and killed by Huntington Park police. Lowe's family is calling the shooting a murder. [ABC 7]

Studio City: Residents of Studio City say that recent mudslides could have been prevented. For years a contractor dumped loose dirt on a hillside, residents told NBC Los Angeles. Resulting in a mudslide after heavy rains earlier this month.

Pasadena: KPCC is changing its name to 'LAist 89.3' soon. The member-supported site says its readers and listeners were more familiar with their LAist name than KPCC. [LAT]

Commerce: The Commerce Casino was evacuated earlier this morning due to an armed suspect, according to authorities. [CBS]

A Los Angeles fire chief facing allegations of sexual misconduct conveniently retired on January 17. [LA Magazine]

A Tesla driver caught on camera in an alleged road rage incident earlier this month was arrested and held on a $5 million bond. Authorities believe that Nathaniel Radimak is connected to several other alleged assaults. [NBC]

Wages and salaries in Los Angeles are increasing faster than inflation, according to regional pay data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
