Amanda Holden has revealed she never wants her children to appear on Love Island.

The Britain's Got Talent judge admitted that she will never let her daughters Hollie or Alexa 'Lexi' Hughes, whom she shares with husband Chris Hughes, head to the famous villa looking for love, as she doesn't believe that's the true purpose of the show.

She made the admission when speaking on her Heart Radio show alongside co-stars Jamie Theakston and Ashley Roberts.

Ashley asked Amanda if she would let her children appear on the ITV reality show, to which she hastily said no.

"No way. My daughter's 18 next year," she said, referring to model Lexi, who recently celebrated her 17th birthday.

Jamie went on to say that he believes Love Island contestants don't appear on the show to find love, to which Amanda agreed.

"It's just another way of being famous, isn't it really? It's not really about love," she said. "It's just about looking hot and just getting involved. I mean, it's just amazing telly but it's not really for love so I don't want my daughter anywhere near."

Ashley did, however, point out the success story of former contestants Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, who have recently welcomed their first daughter into the world.

The Pussycat Doll commented "every now and then it works", to which Amanda agreed: "I mean that's a one-off, that's a fabulous story."

Sharing a photograph from hospital, Molly-Mae revealed yesterday that their daughter was born last week (January 23) and since reflected on the experience via Instagram Stories, stating: "I can't believe we get to keep you forever. Becoming your mum has been the best thing to ever happen to me... it doesn't seem possible but my love for you grows with each passing moment.

"There is no feeling like holding you in my arms little one, my heart literally explodes. Thank you for entering this world safely for us and blessing us with the gift of being your parents. We promise to love and care for you unconditionally forever.
