As Aaron Rodgers’ future in Green Bay appears uncertain, the New York Jets continue to emerge as a possible landing spot for the Packers quarterback.

WFAN’s Sal Licata believes that the pieces are beginning to fall into place to make Rodgers a Jet a reality.

While there are some obstacles — what will it cost to make a trade and would Rodgers be willing to come to New York? — Licata says there are three reasons why the Jets have a shot.

“I think it’s happening,” he said. “I felt that last week; it only got better as they hired [Nathaniel] Hackett. …Three things that is pointing to that it’s going to happen. The first thing was [the report] that they are only going to trade him to the AFC. Once that happened I was like, ‘Ok, now we’re talking.’ Then the Jets hired Hackett. Then it was like, ‘well this is happening.’

“Then on Sunday it comes out that the Packers are leaning toward trading him. Add those three up [and] I think it’s happening. Jets have a shot.”
