CLEVELAND, Ohio— A Painesville man is facing federal charges after authorities found more than 60 pounds of cocaine and fentanyl inside a storage locker in Cleveland’s Glenville neighborhood.

Ronald Rendon-Luna is accused of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and fentanyl.

U.S. District Magistrate Judge Thomas Parker ordered Rendon-Luna to remain in federal custody until a hearing on Friday, when Parker will hear arguments on whether Rendon-Luna should remain behind bars or be released on bond.

Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer reached out to Rendon-Luna’s attorney, Marisa Serrat, for comment.

A Moreland Hills police officer working with a joint federal and state drug task force wrote in court records that investigators developed information that Rendon-Luna was selling drugs. The affidavit filed in court does not detail what that information was.

Investigators on Sunday searched Rendon-Luna’s home on Owego Street and found three guns, a suspected drug scale and backpack that contained a powdery substance, court records say.

About 2:45 a.m. Monday, investigators raided Rendon-Luna’s storage unit at the Cube Mart Self-Storage facility on Leuer Avenue, just south of Interstate 90.

Officers reported finding two plastic tote containers with 66 pounds of drugs inside, court records say.

Investigators tracking Luna-Rendon reported seeing him at the storage facility 20 times in recent months and obtained records showing that he went to the same locker where the drugs were found, court records say.
