A Lititz man is in prison after trying to break into a home, pushing a police officer, fleeing from police and threatening to assault and kill them.
The Lititz Borough Police Department (LBPD) says police got a call around 8:10 p.m. Monday night to a house in the 300 block of North Broad Street due to a reported burglary in-progress.
Police say it was reported that an unknown male, later identified as 25-year-old Brian Fines, tried to get into the house through the back door.
Fines had already entered two victim's cars parked outside.
The victim gave police a description of who they saw and officers were able to locate Fines not too far from the scene.
Officials say police spoke with Fines and he pushed an officer before running away on foot and being caught by police.
According to authorities, Fines then threatened to assault and kill the police officers.
Police say Fines was committed to Lancaster County Prison and a preliminary hearing is scheduled.
The full list of charges against Fines is as follows:
- Burglary
- Theft from a Motor Vehicle
- Terroristic Threats
