There were reports of early morning snow up and down the Puget Sound, spanning Federal Way and Kent to Everett and Lynnwood.

According to the National Weather Service , this will taper off “through mid-morning,” with a chance for more light snow mixing in with rain in Skagit and Whatcom counties Tuesday afternoon.

Later on Tuesday night, rain will move down the Strait of Juan de Fuca and South Sound. Overnight precipitation will then become more widespread around northern Washington with lowland rain, mountain snow, and some mixing in between.

By Wednesday night drier conditions as an upper-level ridge moves east. The dry skies stick around for part of Thursday and for those missing the sunshine Thursday morning could be your lucky day. Before clouds increase Thursday night, sunshine is possible for the interior.

This comes after the region recorded some of its coldest low temperatures of the year so far on Monday, dipping down into the mid-20s. Lows are expected to rise back into the 40s over the next few days.
