After a much colder and moist Tuesday, some wintry weather is now looking likely late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.
Our next weather-maker will be moving in from the south after midnight Tuesday night after midnight.
As overnight temperatures drop to the upper 20s and low 30s, and there will be the chance for any leftover drizzle and flurries changing into a several hour period of light snow and flurries.
The snow is forecast to fall shortly after midnight Tuesday night, continuing through around dawn.
Although the main risk for snow will last for several hours and will occur during the coldest portion of the day... prior to sunrise... ground and air temperatures will have a hard time getting much below freezing during the duration of most of the snowfall.
Therefore, forecasted snow totals are only less than half an inch, with areas south of Baltimore seeing the highest amounts. This would also potentially be enough to finally end Baltimore's Winter of 2022/23 snow drought.
Be aware, even with the little amount of snow that may fall, this still could lead to a few slick spots for the early morning rush hour, especially on ramps, bridges, and overpasses, before anything that had fallen quickly melts off during the day.
The rest of the day will be quieter with clouds gradually clearing and temperatures rising to the low 40s.
Temperatures will reach the 40s again on Thursday, but much colder air is poised to filter into the region after that. Highs will be in the 20s and 30s as the week ends, but next week will start with warmer temperatures as highs quickly rebound into the 40s and 50s.
