Jason Bateman is set to log more time behind the camera, teaming up with JJ Abrams to direct upcoming movie The Pinkerton.
The film sounds like it's going to be pretty high-octane, with elements of the supernatural, Western, and likely lots of drama.
There's no telling when the project's release will come quite yet, but seeing as Abrams' Bad Robot production banner and Warner Bros. acquired it together two years ago, it sounds like it's going to be big.

The Pinkertons have been a popular subject of interest for quite some time now, with Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson also reported to be starring in a film about Kate Warne, the first woman to join the group.
While we don't know what the focus of the Bateman-Abrams movie will be, it's likely to be full of action; the Pinkerton Agency was a security and detective firm founded by Scotsman Allan Pinkerton in the 1850s, and was hired by Abraham Lincoln as his personal Civil War security after Pinkerton claimed to have foiled an assassination plot against him.
According to Deadline, Bateman and Michael Costigan will be teaming up as executive producers, with Abrams and Hannah Minghella as producers.

Abrams, of course, you'll know from directing huge franchises such as Star Wars and Mission: Impossible, while his production banner Bad Robot is taking on Silent Hill: Ascension. So, there's no doubt he'll bring plenty of action and thrills.
And, while you might primarily think of Bateman as an actor, becoming a household name thanks to projects such as Ozark and Arrested Development, he's equally skilled as a director. He's been nominated for two Emmys and a Directors Guild of America Award for directing episodes of Ozark, so he's more than ready to sit in the director's seat again.
Ozark seasons 1-4 are streaming on Netflix.
