CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Chicago Police Lieutenant accused of using excessive force while arresting a teenager accused of carjacking was acquitted during a bench trial.

“That’s what you get for carjacking,” Lt. Wilfredo Roman said, according to prosecutors, after allegedly shoving a flashlight into the teen’s rear end.

The teen was clothed.

“That’s not what you’re supposed to get for carjacking," Assistant State’s Attorney Thomas Fryska said.

Roman asserted the teen was resisting.

Prosecutors noted that statements from other officers and body cam video didn’t support that.

The lieutenant’s lawyer, James McKay, called the case, “garbage,” according to the Tribune.

“It’s a nudge, it’s a spanking. For the love of God, I’ve had nuns that treated me far worse,” McKay said.

Judge Joseph Claps doubted the teen’s story.

Roman was acquitted of felony aggravated battery and official misconduct.
