Time for a story about nothing ... yada yada yada ... not that there’s anything wrong with that.

So who’s next on Manning’s wish list, when he and Peyton Manning return in the fall for the third season of ESPN’s alternate broadcasts of Monday Night Football?

Here’s what Eli Manning told The Athletic’s Dan Duggan regarding Obama’s appearance and who could be next:

I was excited about that. I didn’t think it would actually happen. I was trying to put someone out there, and I was like, “We’ll never get a former president.” But sure enough we did. I’m a huge “Seinfeld” fan, so I think Jerry Seinfeld or Larry David would be a good guest next year. That’s my trophy guest right now.

Should David join the Manning boys on the Worldwide Leader, it would make for some interesting conversation since the Seinfeld co-creator is a well-known New York Jets fan. And as Seinfeld would say, “That’s a shame.”

As for Eli Manning, he and Peyton are gearing up to coach against each other in the Pro Bowl this weekend. Consider it a late festivus for the rest of us.
