Update, 8:10 a.m.: Several slick spots have been reported as wet areas freeze on the roads. Drivers are warned to be careful, especially on bridges and shaded areas.

Interstate 24 eastbound near the state line is at a standstill, and the roads in Kentucky are slow.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Roads in Montgomery County were clear Tuesday morning, though there could be patches of black ice in some areas.

The Montgomery County Highway Department said there is no accumulation on the roads.

“However, please use caution while driving because there could be isolated slick spots on the road due to ice,” the Highway Department reported.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools were closed, along with APSU and several other organizations.

While there is ice on the trees, there were no CDE Lightband power outages Tuesday morning. Outside the city, there were about 136 homes without power in Montgomery County, according to CEMC.

Montgomery County is under a Winter Weather Advisory again from 6 p.m. tonight until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Mixed precipitation is expected, with total snow accumulations of up to one half of an inch and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch, according to the National Weather Service.

“Precipitation will likely start as freezing rain and sleet,” the NWS said.
