2024 LB Cole Sullivan "Super Excited" Over Notre Dame Offer

Al Golden had news for Cole Sullivan‍ when the Notre Dame defensive coordinator spoke with the 2024 Pennsylvania linebacker on Saturday.

Golden informed the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder that he had an offer from the Irish.

“He just told me that he was excited to build a relationship with me, and he told me that I earned it and just congratulations,” Sullivan said of the message from Golden.

Sullivan added Notre Dame to an offer list that already included West Virginia, Boston College, Syracuse, Iowa State and Cincinnati among others.

The Central Catholic High School star picked up Virginia Tech on Monday night.

The offer from the Irish certainly got his attention.

“I was super excited,” Sullivan said. “Obviously, it's an amazing opportunity that not many people get to have, so I was just very grateful for the opportunity.

“Obviously, it has a great history that goes back many years. It's about tradition there and everyone knows that Notre Dame is a great education. It's like an Ivy League education, where you can also compete for national championship.”

He visited South Bend for two games last season.

“I thought the atmosphere of the game was amazing,” he said. “The second time we went down, it was a night game and it was just electric under the lights. All the fans were great. It just really felt like a great atmosphere and one that would be great to play in.”

And now he’s looking into returning.

“The next step is to just get back on campus in March and really just to build relationships with the coaches and figure out if it's the right fit for me,” said Sullivan, who doesn’t have a date locked in just yet.

He’s planning to check out other schools in the coming months as well, but nothing is set.

Sullivan isn’t going to rush a decision and doesn’t have a timeline for a decision or for cutting his list.

“This whole recruiting thing kind of blew up all at once for me. Right now, I'm just kind of going to let it happen when it happens. Obviously, I'm looking forward to finding the best place for me, but I can't tell you right now when that's going to be.”
