Failure to comply: Rockside Road
Police attempted to pull over a driver at 10:03 a.m. Jan. 3 for driving in rainy conditions without headlights, in violation of Ohio law.
The man reportedly fled and threw something out the window during the chase, which was later joined by officers from the Cuyahoga Heights Police Department.
The driver fled from the truck on foot after crashing into a light pole and a fence at the Rockport Ready Mix facility in Cleveland.
Police questioned a female passenger in the truck and began a search of the area for the driver. The man was later apprehended by Greater Cleveland RTA Transit Police and was charged with fleeing, driving under suspension and the headlights violation. He was taken to the Independence City Jail.
Theft: Brecksville Road
A woman was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm and theft after reportedly stealing $20 worth of food from a Drug Mart at 12:29 p.m. Jan. 4.
Police located the woman’s vehicle leaving a nearby business and found her with the handgun and a chicken wrap sandwich, a chicken casserole and boneless chicken wings stolen from the store.
She reportedly told police she took the items because she was hungry but had no money.
Disorderly conduct: West Creek Road
A woman was arrested for disorderly conduct at 2:11 a.m. Jan. 1 when police responded to a reported fight at a hotel involving 15 to 20 people.
The woman reportedly refused to stop being disorderly during the investigation. She was cited and released to a friend.
