National Signing Day: Alabama Looks to be Satisfied, Players to Watch

The Crimson Tide isn't expected to add anyone else on Wednesday's official deadline after bringing in the top class in the country during the early period. That doesn't mean other programs aren't trying to finish strong.

It's quiet. Too quiet.

Or is it?

Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide finished comfortably ahead of Georgia and Texas to rake in the nation's top recruiting class in 2023.

After grabbing nine five-stars, 18 four-stars and a three-star during the early signing period, the Crimson Tide doesn't feel like it has much else left to do.

And those 28 players brought in doesn't include the addition of both tight end CJ Dippre from Maryland and linebacker Trezmen Marshall from Georgia.

Needless to say, Alabama has plenty of incoming talent to help make up the 2023-24 roster.

Sports Illustrated didn't even bother to wait, and named the Crimson Tide its national recruiting champion back in December. Alabama finished with 11 prospects in the SI99, the most of any team.

It's not just the Crimson Tide, most programs are expecting a quiet National Signing Day. As time goes on, more and more recruits announce their decisions by Early Signing Day. The same goes for this year, with the majority of the big name prospects declaring their future early on Dec. 21, 2022.

There are still some things to watch around the country on Wednesday, however.

Of the top 150 players in the Class of 2023, four have yet to make a decision.

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs don't believe they're finished just yet. The No. 1 tight end in the country, Duce Robinson, has yet to make a decision on his future yet. Many believe he will be taking his talents to Athens.

The same goes for four-star tight end Walker Lyons, who has also been connected to the Bulldogs. However, Lyons, a California native, may be leaning towards a commitment to Stanford.

Another person to keep an eye on is quarterback Jaden Rashada. Rashada signed his letter of intent to the University of Florida before officially getting the document annulled and decommitting from the Gators on Jan. 20. It is believed that he will remain in The Sunshine State, playing instead for Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes.

The No. 1 ATH in the Class of 2023 is soon to make his decision as well. Nyckoles Harbor, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound edge rusher from Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C. is apparently leaning towards a commitment to Shane Beamer and South Carolina.

The last high-profile recruit to make his decision on Tuesday is four-star cornerback Rodrick Pleasant. The No. 8 CB in the class, Pleasant is down to Boston College, California, Oregon, UCLA and USC.
