Road rage incident begins in Cleveland, ends in Strongsville: Strongsville Police Blotter

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio

Traveling road rage: Royalton Road

On Jan. 13, a driver called police regarding a road rage incident that began in Cleveland.

The BMW convertible driver said he was being tailgated by a white SUV with a “Blue Lives Matter” sticker on the back while getting onto Interstate 71 in Cleveland.

At that point, the man in the SUV was not only yelling at him, but ended up following him to the Royalton Road exit in Strongsville.

Exiting the highway in Strongsville, the BMW pulled into a parking lot. The SUV followed.

The caller asked for police to check the area; however, the SUV was gone. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Suspicious jammies: Royalton Road

On Jan. 13, a passerby called police about a suspicious man seen walking in his pajama pants and T-shirt on Royalton Road.

An arriving officer talked to the man, who checked out OK.

Drunken driving: Interstate 71

On Jan. 13, police were dispatched to the I-71 on-ramp to the Ohio Turnpike regarding a vehicle pulled over on the side of the road.

An arriving officer located the Toyota, which was actually off the road with a passed-out man behind the wheel.

After failing a field sobriety test, the man was arrested for drunken driving. As for the Toyota, a tow truck’s winch had to be used to pull it back onto the road.

Speeding vehicles: Timberline Drive

On Jan. 13, a Timberline Drive resident called police to complain about speeding vehicles in the area. An arriving officer didn’t observe any violators, but the police were going to conduct an enforcement in the area.

Slip and slide: Royalton Road

On Jan. 13, police were dispatched to a Royalton Road address after the driver of a gray Honda Accord slid on ice while pulling into a building parking lot and struck a “No left turn” sign. The officer contacted the service department.

Suspicious situation: Lunn Road

On Jan. 13, a Strongsville High School principal contacted police after learning that a student had made a concerning social media post. Police are investigating.
