Collin College will host its 10th annual Collin College Guitar Festival at the Plano Campus on Feb. 10-11.

According to a news release from the college, the festival will feature live performances and classes for guitarists of all ages and skill levels. The two-day event is set to take place at 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, and is free to attend.

“The fact that it’s free is a draw,” said Fernand Vera, director of guitar studies at Collin College. “It’s open to all students and all levels. Any guitarist can come see the concerts and participate.”

Per the release, the festival will feature a concert from Gohar Vardanyan, a classical guitarist who trained at Julliard and has performed in a number of countries. After the concert, attendees may participate in guitar classes, some of which will be taught by Vardanyan.

Collin College Music Department and Collin College Guitar Studies will host the festival in conjunction with the Student Activity Fee Advisory Committee.
