NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Police have arrested two suspects who they say committed six separate robberies overnight in multiple New York City boroughs.

The suspects traveled through Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan in a white Toyota Sienna minivan, randomly mugging people in an overnight spree.

Authorities say it all began outside an apartment building in Corona, Queens, around 1 a.m. when victims were robbed of cellphones and jewelry at gunpoint on the sidewalk.

A short time later, a similar crime happened in front of a Woodside motel, where cash and a phone were taken.

Of the six total robberies, three happened in Queens, one happened in Brooklyn and two happened in Manhattan -- including at a food truck parked outside a library on the campus of NYU in Greenwich Village.

Cash or property was taken in all six holdups.

The two-hour crime spree came to an end when police spotted the white minivan crossing the Whitestone Bridge into the Bronx.

The suspects were taken into custody after crashing the van.

Police say a gun was found in the glove compartment and both suspects were on parole for prior crimes -- including attempted murder.

One of the suspects, while in handcuffs, appeared to brag about the ease of getting back out on the street.

"I'll be out on bail in 24 hours, I'll be out on bail," the suspect said.

Police closed the Major Deegan Expressway exit ramp at Exit 8 as they caught the suspects.
