TXT Becomes 1st Foreign Artist To Dominate Oricon With 7 Consecutive Albums

On January 31, Oricon has revealed their weekly album chart, which covers January 23 to 29. In the chart, it included TXT's newly released album "The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION," placing at No. 1.

Oricon also disclosed that the album has now sold a total of 185,000 copies in Japan. This feat was achieved by the group in only three days, since the album's first day release.

With their previous album "Minisode 2: Thursday's Child" having dominated Oricon charts, it marked the group as the first foreign act to top the chart with 6 consecutive albums. It was followed by their latest album "The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION."

"The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION" also entered at No. 1 on Oricon's daily album chart, due to having sold 184,971 copies in its first day of release.

This remarkable accomplishment notes that it only took TXT a single day to beat their own previous Japanese sales record in 2022.

Aside from their album's prowess on the Oricon charts, its title track "Sugar Rush Ride" also entered the Spotify Global Top Songs chart, earning its place at No. 38.

The song received so much love in Japan, it appeared on the country's iTunes Top Albums chart. In Korea, it also entered Melon's Top 100, maintaining its present position in No. 6.

The music video for "Sugar Rush Ride" was released on January 27, and currently garners 38,922,011 views in YouTube. Their fans, MOAs, were delighted to see the group appear in their majestic MV, giving good music as kickstart for 2023.

TXT Achieves Historic Breakthrough After Debuting On Billboard Song Breaker Chart

In a previous note, TXT has made their entry to one of Billboard's charts. On March 22, 2022, Billboard revealed that TXT has debuted on their Song Breaker Chart, arriving at No. 18.

Billboard's Song Breaker Chart's aim is to distinguish the impact of artists in the music industry. This feat marked TXT as the first male K-pop artist to enter the chart, and the second K-pop group to join, following girl group TWICE.

Furthermore, TXT has also made their way on Billboard's Top Current Album Sales chart, with their album "The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE" having soared on No. 75. It has solidified its reputation as the longest-running album in the tally for 2021.
