Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza & Taproom opened its first Dallas-Fort Worth restaurant Jan. 24 at the Stonebriar Centre mall in Frisco. The local franchisees agreed to open two stores in the metroplex with the first opening in Frisco at the intersection of SH 121 and the Dallas North Tollway.

“We have seen tremendous success in Texas, and opening in the Stonebriar Centre represents a significant milestone for us in the state,” said Matt Mongoven, CEO of Fourth Avenue Restaurant Group, the franchisee of Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza & Taproom, in a news release. “We are confident local Frisco families will love our concept because kids can have fun watching their food being made while parents relax with a drink from the taproom.”

The Frisco store features wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, salads, starters and desserts on its menu. The store is laid out to have an open-plan kitchen letting patrons see the pizza as it is cooked. The taproom will have a self-pour tap wall with craft and domestic beer, wine, cider and mixed cocktails. To use the taproom, guests will start a tab and get a bracelet allowing them to pour up to 16 ounces at a time on the wall. The store also features a 140-inch video wall for live sporting events and has a separate lounge and private dining areas for small private events.

The brand has restaurants in Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Nebraska and Texas. The first Texas store, located in Austin, opened in August, and the local franchisees plan for an additional restaurant in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. 469-971-2328. www.smokinoakpizza.com
