On January 30th, 2023, Scott Foster, 40 years old, from Oregon, was arrested and charged with robbery, carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Caldwell Police officers were dispatched to a convenience store in the 500 block of East Ustick Road for an armed robbery. Upon their arrival, the officers observed a man matching the description of the suspect and subsequently detained him without incident or force.
Foster had attempted to steal alcoholic beverages and was confronted by the store clerk. Foster then brandished a loaded firearm and stated, “You don’t want trouble,” as he walked out of the store with the stolen items.
When the officers detained Foster, he was in possession of a loaded firearm and the stolen items.
We will not tolerate this type of blatant criminal activity in our city. If you think you can come to our town and pull a gun on a person trying to do their job, we will do everything in our power to ensure the last time you see your gun is when we take it from you and book it into evidence. -Rex Ingram, Caldwell Chief of Police.
