Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale teen Sarah Sugden will discover the truth about Mackenzie Boyd and Chloe Harris' secret next week.

Sarah recently became suspicious that Mack could be the mystery father of Chloe's unborn baby, but Chloe managed to cover up the truth by dismissing her theories.

In next week's episodes, the story shifts forward again as Sarah overhears another incriminating conversation.

As Mack continues to struggle with the secret guilt that he's constantly carrying, he informs Chloe that he plans to tell Charity the truth about the baby.

Both are unaware that Sarah has come out of her bedroom and has overheard them from upstairs.

Chloe opposes Mack's plans, but she becomes frustrated when he refuses to back down.

Mack thinks that it'd be best if Chloe left before his confession, but she insists on sticking around to give her side of the story – fearing that he'll throw her to the wolves to protect himself otherwise.

At the exact moment that Mack and Chloe are planning to come clean with Charity, Sarah comes stumbling down the stairs and is struggling to breathe.

A horrified Charity orders Mack to call an ambulance, which rushes Sarah off to A&E.

At the hospital, Charity is devastated by her granddaughter's condition, leaving Mack and Chloe with the obvious realisation that their moment of truth will have to be put on hold.

With Charity still oblivious, she confides in Mack with her fears over Sarah's life expectancy.
