A wintry mix of freezing rain, snow and sleet affected traffic conditions throughout the state Monday.

Slick roads were being treated in several counties south and east of the Turner Turnpike Monday afternoon, and I-40 was slick in spots between Oklahoma City and Arkansas. I-35 between Purcell and Texas was being treated for "slick and hazardous" conditions.

The conditions are likely to worsen heading into Tuesday, as a second wave of ice is expected to hit much of the state Tuesday.

For those preparing to drive, or for those trying to decide whether they should drive at all, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation has an interactive map where Oklahomans can check road conditions.
