The Linn County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call Monday at 9:22 a.m., reporting a single-vehicle crash on Scravel Hill Road. The caller reported a vehicle had struck a power pole and power lines were down throughout the area.
When deputies responded, they found the sole occupant and driver, 34-year-old Bradley Freeman from Lebanon had died at the scene.
Officials say the investigation revealed that Freeman was traveling north on Scravel Hill Road, near the intersection of Grenz Lane, when he crossed into the oncoming lane and into a ditch.
He impacted a driveway entrance, and the pickup truck continued a short distance and hit a nearby power pole, shearing it off at the base.
Officials say it is not known what caused Freeman to leave the roadway. The investigation is continuing.
