Frenship ISD officials said they are looking into allegations stemming from a complaint anonymously sent to administrators last week regarding alleged sexual misconduct involving an employee and student.

The school district issued a statement saying the complaint was sent to administrators on Thursday. The district did not provide further details about the nature of the complaint.

"While the District is restricted by law from providing confidential personnel information and the specific details of the anonymous complaint, we want to reassure our Frenship staff, students, and families that we thoroughly investigate any allegation related to the health and safety of our students and staff," the statement reads. "Frenship takes the responsibility of student and staff safety very seriously, and we will continue to investigate the anonymous complaint."

The anonymous complaint was also sent to news media outlets and alleged a school employee was being investigated for "having inappropriate contact with a (student)."

The Avalanche-Journal could not independently confirm additional details about the employee, but this is a developing story that will be updated as more information develops.
