First low-income workforce housing units open in Old Town

The first-ever low-income workforce housing project opens in Old Town Fort Collins. Oak 140, at the corner of Remington and Oaks streets, is a five-story 79-unit apartment building, open to residents who make between 30% and 80% of the area’s median income. The Coloradoan reports a one-bedroom apartment in Fort Collins costs as much as $1,600 permonth. But for some, at Oak 140, it will cost just over $500. The Downtown Development Authority said the building aims to provide an option for employees who work in the service industry in Fort Collins to live in the city.
