MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee Metal Fest has come back from the ashes after a decades-long hiatus.

As a three-day event during Memorial Day weekend (May 26-28), the Rave will host several notable headliners, including Lamb of God, Anthrax and Suicidal Tendencies.

It will also host bands Shadows Fall, Dark Angel, The Halo Effect and many more.

It’s been since 2007 that Metal Fest last raged in Milwaukee. The festival originally ran from 1987 to 2004 and was founded by Jack Koshick.

But last summer, Koshick passed the torch.

Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta announced he’d purchased the rights to the festival from Koshick, according to an article in the Loudwire. He added he would bring the festival back partially as a tribute to a friend he lost in the metal industry.

Tickets go on sale for the festival Feb. 3 at 10 a.m, with presales taking place Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. There are several ticket packages available — three-day passes, two-day passes and single-day passes. Passes can be purchased here.
