Lutheran East takes over No. 1 in Division III, five area D-I teams in top 10 of Associated Press state boys basketball poll

CLEVELAND, Ohio — While St. Edward and Richmond Heights remain atop their respective divisions in the Associated Press state boys basketball poll, Lutheran East moved into the No. 1 position of Division III in Monday’s vote.

The Falcons moved up one spot since last week in Division III, while Richmond Heights remains atop Division IV. They are the only area schools in Ohio’s smaller divisions to receive top 10 billing from a panel of sports reporters across the state.

Undefeated St. Edward, which remains No. 1 in Division I, is among five area teams in the top 10 for the state’s largest classification. Brecksville-Broadview Heights is third, followed by St. Vincent-St. Mary in sixth, Stow-Munroe Falls in eighth and Garfield Heights tied for 10th.

Meanwhile, Lutheran West is fourth in Division II.
