Adriana Davidson missing updates — Ann Arbor teen found dead after leaving phone at high school

MISSING Michigan teen Adriana Davidson has been found dead after vanishing from her school, the sheriff's office has reported.

The 15-year-old, who goes by Addy, was reported missing on Saturday around midnight after not returning home from Pioneer High School.

Her body has since been found under the bleachers at the school, the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office told CBS.

The teen's phone was reportedly found on the Ann Arbor school's tennis courts on Friday afternoon by a student who then gave the phone to Adriana's best friend.

Adriana's family last heard from her at about 9am on Friday, when she was headed to school.

Chilling last texts

Adriana's phone was reportedly found on the school premises Friday afternoon.

The phone was given to Adriana's brother Anthony Lopez who told WXYZ her last messages were with one of her best friends.

Her brother told the outlet: "The text messages between her and her friend are time stamped at 12:26 p.m. where she had texted my sister saying 'You straight?' and then Addy responded saying 'No.'"

The friend then reportedly replied: "Wym," which is an abbreviation for 'what do you mean?.'

Anthony added this conversation was a "red flag."

Missing since Friday

Adriana Davidson was last seen at 11am Friday by her friends outside of Pioneer High School, cops say.

The teen’s family last heard from her at about 9am on Friday, when she was headed to school.

Cops say surveillance footage from the school bus then shows Adriana going back to school at around 12pm on Friday, but she never went inside.

This is the last time she was seen, wearing a green coat, black Ugg boots, and clear-framed glasses, according to police.

Adriana Davidson has been found dead, according to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office.

The 15-year-old was last seen by her friends outside of Pioneer High School at 11am Friday.

Before that, her family last heard from her Friday at 9am.

‘No active threat to community’

The Ann Arbor police department has begun investigating Adriana Davidson’s death.

In a tweet today the police department noted, “We do not believe there is an active threat to the community.”

There has been no foul play suspected and an autopsy has been planned to determine her cause of death.

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office sends prayers

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office tweeted out well wishes to Adriana Davidson’s friends and family this afternoon.

The sheriff’s office tweet read, “Our sincere condolences go out to the friends and family of Adriana. You remain in our thoughts and prayers. We would also like to thank everyone for your assistance in spreading the word, sharing tips, and offering your support.”

There reportedly is no foul play suspected at this time.

Reported missing Sunday

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s office reported Adriana’s family attempted to search for her when she did not return home.

The family reportedly called the police to report her missing at about 12:10am Sunday when they were unable to find her.

This afternoon a canine unit located the body of Adriana Davidson near the athletic fields of Ann Arbor Pioneer High School, the sheriff’s office reported.

Ann Arbor Police are investigating

The official Twitter for the Ann Arbor Police has tweeted regarding the death of Adriana Davidson.

The Police department said, “DEATH INVESTIGATION: On 1/30/23 at approximately 1:00pm the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of a juvenile female on the grounds of Pioneer High School. The juvenile had been reported missing on 1/28/23.”

They added, “While the Ann Arbor Police department is investigating the circumstances of her death, we do not believe there is an active threat to the community. An autopsy is planned to determine cause of death.”

Adriana attended Pioneer High School

Adriana Davidson was a student at Pioneer High School located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

According to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, a canine unit located the body of Adriana Davidson near the athletic fields of Ann Arbor Pioneer High School.

The teen was missing since Friday before being found by police this afternoon.

Using public bus video the Washtenaw Sheriff’s Office was able to confirm that Adriana Davidson arrived at school Friday morning.

She reportedly left soon after though as her friends revealed she wasn’t feeling well.

The video also revealed that Adriana returned to school again around noon. She was never seen going inside, and that’s reportedly the last time she was seen.

Adriana was missing for four days

Adriana Davidson was last seen alive Friday around 11pm, when her friends saw her leaving the high school.

Adriana reportedly had a text exchange with her best friend at 12:26 pm and it was the last anyone heard from Adriana.

“Just before 1pm today, the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit located Adriana Davidson near the athletic fields of Ann Arbor Pioneer High School.

“At this early stage, there are no indications of foul play,” the officers commented”

Adriana’s sister pays tribute

Adriana Davidson‘s sister, Brookelynne Lopez, paid a heartbreaking tribute to the teen on Instagram.

“Unfortunately this isn’t the news I wanted to hear or anyone,” Brookelynne wrote.

“But my sister has passed away.”

She continued: “Thank you to everyone that did everything they could to try and help us find her. Fly high Addy I love you forever and always.”

Adriana’s last text messages

Adriana Davidson’s brother Anthony Lopez shared with 7 action news the text message exchange between Adriana and her best friend from Friday afternoon.

Lopez revealed that Adriana Davidson’s best friend texted her saying ‘You straight?’ and then Adriana responded by saying “No.”

The text exchange reportedly happened at 12:26 pm and was the last anyone heard from Adriana.

Family needs ‘time to grieve’

Adriana Davidson’s father, John Davidson, wrote on Facebook that the family needs “time to grieve” after the news of Adriana’s death.

“This is the hardest thing I’ve even had to do but, my daughter Adriana was found and she has passed on!” the father wrote.

“I’m not sure where I go from here but, I am so grateful for all the support and love from everyone across this nation especially family and friends that have helped searching and posting for Adriana!”

Found ‘under the bleachers’

Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office has reported that Adriana Davidson was found “under the bleachers” at Pioneer High School, according to CBS Detroit.

The teen was last seen alive Friday around 11pm, when her friends saw her leaving the high school.

Police ask for help

‘This is not my daughter’

Adriana’s father John Davidson reportedly was last in contact with her when she left to take a local public bus, known as The Ride, but she never returned later that day and didn’t respond to his texts or calls.

“This is not my daughter,” John told WXYZ. John said that Adriana always responds to him.

The worried father called Adriana’s friends and went to the school, but couldn’t find her.

Brother shares emotional video

On Monday afternoon, Adriana’s brother shared an emotional video revealing that his sister had been discovered dead by police.

“We got a call to get to my dad’s apartment right away. The two detectives were there and they let us know that Adriana was found and that she has passed on,” Anthony Lopez, Adriana’s brother said in a Facebook post.

“My little sister is dead,” Anthony said in the video.

Last seen by friend

One of Adriana’s best friends told the missing teen’s brother, Anthony Lopez, that she saw Adriana leaving school on Friday.

She told Anthony that she reportedly texted Adriana and shared a screenshot of the text messages with Anthony.

“The text messages between her and her friend are time stamped at 12:26 p.m. where she had texted my sister saying ‘You straight?’ and then Addy responded saying ‘No,'” Anthony told WXYZ.

The friend then reportedly replied: “Wym,” which is an abbreviation for What do you mean? But Adriana never responded.

This is reportedly the last that anyone has heard from the missing teen.

Father suspects foul play

John Davidson, Adriana‘s father, told WXYZ that he suspects foul play.

Derrick Jackson, Director of Community Engagement with Washtenaw Sheriff’s Office, told the outlet: “There’s definitely some suspicious pieces to this.”

“What teenage girl just wanders off and leaves her phone and doesn’t contact someone?” he said.

Friends claimed Adriana felt unwell

Friends reportedly said that they last saw Adriana at around 11am, outside the school, according to cops.

Her friends reportedly told police that she felt unwell.

Cops say the bus video then shows Adriana going back to school at around 12pm on Friday, but she never went inside.

‘Red flag’

Adriana Davidson’s phone was reportedly found on her high school’s tennis courts on Friday afternoon by a student who then gave the phone to Adriana’s best friend.

Adriana’s brother, Anthony Lopez told WXYZ that the abandoned phone, which is now in police custody, is a “red flag.”

“When I found out that Addy was potentially missing, I knew right away she didn’t run away. The red flag for me was the phone,” he said.

Ann Arbor Public School releases statement

Ann Arbor Public School, the school Adriana Davidson has released a statement following the news of her death this afternoon.

The school said, “According to the Sheriff’s Department, there are no indications of foul play. AAPS will continue to work closely in support of both the AAPD and the Sheriff’s Department throughout the course of their investigation

“We are all deeply saddened by the loss of Adriana. Our sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to Adriana’s family, friends and the Pioneer community. 

“Please reach out and support each other. Remember that this hard news affects everyone differently. Sometimes it really hits hard even for students and staff who did not know Addy personally. This is especially true now.”
