Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to remove regulation from federal law he says allows the World Health Organization to "exert its authority over the United States."Get the latest news stories of interest by clicking here.A news release says the lawsuit, which was filed last week in the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Texas, states that the HHS's definition of a public health emergency exceeds the agency's scope by unlawfully giving the WHO the authority to invoke emergency health powers in the country. >> Download the KOCO 5 App"This regulation is an infringement on U.S. and state sovereignty," Drummond said in the news release. "It is particularly egregious that the Biden administration would delegate such sovereignty to the World Health Organization in light of the WHO’s many missteps during the pandemic.
