PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Police are looking for suspects after a reported carjacking on the North Side on Monday.

Police were called to Beaver Avenue around 12:30 a.m. for a carjacking. The victim told police he was lured to the area of Mannheim Street through a social media post.

When he got there, he told police four people threatened him at gunpoint and took his vehicle. One of the suspects hit him in the head before leaving, police said.

That vehicle was spotted some 30 minutes later in the Parkford Apartment Complex in South Park Township.

Neighbors were awakened by the sights and sounds of emergency vehicles. When they peered out their windows, they saw multiple officers surrounding an apartment with guns drawn.

One neighbor, who was too scared to show her face, says she was worried because she didn't know who police were looking for and her daughter was asleep close by.

"I'm not sure if someone was dangerous, had a weapon on them upstairs or if that apartment is affiliated with anything illegal," she said.

Witnesses tell KDKA officers entered an apartment with guns drawn but no one was taken into custody.

People who live there were left scratching their heads.

"They might have had friends, family up here they ran to -- something like that because this is a tucked area," said resident Davon Menzer. "It's pretty hard to find this on the map so it's kind of random for somebody to be in the city then carjack someone and then pull up here out of nowhere. That's kind of weird to me."

The vehicle was towed back for processing. Police's auto squad is investigating.
