Gainesville woman arrested after allegedly setting man's possessions on fire

A Gainesville woman was arrested Friday after she reportedly set fire to a man's possessions in the yard of a home on Elrod Road.

According to the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Jaimie Mikayla Arnold, 31, burned more than $4,000 worth of the victim's personal belongings in her yard.

Deputies responded at about 9:20 p.m. Friday to a suspicious yard fire in the 5000 block of the roadway. Hall County Fire Rescue personnel requested deputies after discovering the yard fire was made up of personal belongings. The victim was a 33-year-old man.

Deputies arrested Arnold at the scene and charged her with third-degree arson, a felony, and criminal trespass under the Family Violence Act, a misdemeanor.

The agency was unable to release any details about what led to the incident. However, it was domestic-related. The victim was not at the scene at the time of the fire.

Arnold remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of the last report.
