Trae Young vs. Damian Lillard sounds like a nice little matchup for a Monday night in the NBA, only one problem: Trae Young’s ankle. Trae was able to go last game against the Clippers on Saturday and he had 31 points and 10 assists, but he is going to be a game-time call for this one.

With that in mind, let’s look for some prop bet value between the Atlanta Hawks and Portland Trail Blazers up in the pacific northwest.

Hawks vs. Blazers best NBA prop bets

Dejounte Murray OVER19.5 points (-115)
Damian Lillard UNDER 33.5 points (-115)
Clint Capela OVER 10.5 rebounds (-113)

Dejounte Murray OVER 19.5 points (-115)

If Young is out then Murray will be running the show, but I still like this bet even if he plays. Portland has the same problem now that they’ve always had in the Damian Lillard era. They play two scoring guards who can’t defend in the same backcourt. If he gets a defensive ace for Portland, likely someone like Josh Hart, or he gets less defensive attention because Young is in, Murray should be in line for a strong night.

Damian Lillard UNDER 33.5 points (-115)

There is one potential upside for the Hawks if their point guard and leading scorer misses. They’ll have more defense out there on the floor. Trae is a liability and Lillard will hunt him in switches. Even if Trae Young does play, I think we see Lillard cool off and play more to his season long average of 30.1 points per game.

Clint Capela OVER 10.5 rebounds (-113)

The Trail Blazers lost to Toronto on Saturday and it was pretty instructive for this matchup. With Jusuf Nurkic out in that one, Precious Achiuwa dominated inside, I expect Capela to do the same if he’s battling Drew Eubanks as Nurkic is questionable with a lingering calf injury.
