NeNe Leakes addresses son Brentt’s sexuality after he seemingly comes out as gay

NeNe Leakes set the record straight — no pun intended — after her son Brentt seemingly came out as gay.

“Brentt is not gay,” the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum said during a “Breakfast Club” interview Monday. “Not to my knowledge.”

Leakes, 55, shared that she spoke with the 23-year-old on the phone after receiving calls from friends who were “concerned” about his TikTok video on Saturday.

“He called me up and was like, ‘Mom, everybody is asking if I’m gay because I did this TikTok thing,'” she explained. “And I said, ‘It’s OK if you are gay. It’s fine with me.’

“And he was like, ‘OK, Mom, I’m not gay.'”

The former Bravolebrity said she didn’t know “what the big deal” was, telling host Charlamagne tha God that Brentt’s “happiness is the most important thing.”

She added, “I don’t need to ask him, ‘Are you gay?’ What I like to say to people is … ‘Whatever makes you happy.’ If my son today says he’s gay, I’m 100 percent OK with it.”

The rumors began when Brentt posted a video of himself attempting to throw a wadded ball of paper into a trash can.

“If I miss, I’m gay,” he captioned the footage, in which he missed, snapped his fingers and walked away from the camera.

While some TikTok users speculated that the post was “clearly a joke,” others congratulated Brentt in the comments section.

While Brentt has yet to speak to the speculation, he did repost his mom’s interview via his Instagram Stories on Monday alongside crying-laughing emojis.

Leakes welcomed her son in 1999 with her late husband, Gregg Leakes. They also shared son Bryson, 33. Gregg died of colon cancer in September 2021 at age 66.

Brentt made headlines last year when he suffered heart failure and a stroke . He has since lost 100 pounds .
