A Celebration of Life service for Walter Martin Harris, age 91, of Clarksville, TN, will be Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Bro. Rodney Leetham will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Walter was born on December 8, 1931, in Montgomery County to Granville and Laura Smith Harris. He passed away on January 28, 2023. Walter was an elder and treasurer for Oakwood Church of Christ and a veteran of the United States Army. He loved farming, hunting, fishing, traveling, and working on cars.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Bobby Harris, Dexter Harris, and Granville Harris, Jr.
Walter is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rachel Harris; children, Wade (Paula) Harris and Renee (Nick) Harrington; grandchildren: Walter (Jessie) Harrington, Ben Webb, Haley (Matthew) Jordan, Grant Harris, and Monica Moran; and great grandson, Hank Harrington.
