Person identified after human remains found among trash in Birmingham drainage ditch

The Jefferson County Coroner Medical Examiner's Office (JCCMEO) identified the person as Jeramy Hallmon, 38, of Birmingham.
The JCCMEO says the cause of death is pending additional analysis.

Birmingham police are investigating the discovery of human remains in a drainage ditch in the East Lake area.
The Jefferson County Coroner's office reports that a citizen called the police Sunday shortly before noon after finding the decomposing/skeletonized remains.
The ditch was on the shoulder of a road in the 8400 block of 7th Avenue South, which is a residential area.
The remains were in a large pile of household rubbish and have been recovered.
Tests will be run to determine identification and the cause of death.
